Reminder to Officials, Organizers, and Scorers

By USEA | March 25, 2009

In 2008, a new term was endorsed by the USEF Technical Committee to help distinguish rider falls from other types of non-technical eliminations at recognized horse trials. In the event of a fall of rider that causes elimination, the designation “RF” should be used on the scoresheets instead of “E” for elimination. If there is a fall of horse and rider that causes elimination, the Mandatory Retirement (MR) designation takes precedence.

If there are any questions regarding scoring at a recognized horse trial, please see the USEF Rules for Eventing as well as the Formula for Reporting of Scores on the Master Score Sheets Form, available on the USEA website. Questions can also be directed to Sharon Gallagher, Senior Director of Competitions or Lauren King, Competitions Specialist at (703) 779-0440.
