This might be one of the cutest horses...ever. It's Jimminy Cricket, ridden/owned by Dornin North.
This nifty (and hefty!) guy was bred to event - his dad is the famous Master Imp! They had a very workmanlike test and finished up in the middle of the pack.
Katlyn Hewson & Without a Trace
It was nice to see someone smiling (or trying to!) in that humidity... poor guys! At least there was a nice breeze...
Kirsten Selvig & Ruse de Guerre
They had a pretty nice test, and finished with a decent mid-50s score. Not bad!
Kirsten Schmolze and Castle Jordan looking very businesslike.
These guys had a few really nice moments during their test, but had to settle for a not-so-hot score. They certainly looked very stylish and elegant, I have to say!
Marshall Cody & Laura VanderVliet
Mikki Kuchta's partner Oz is a true cross-country horse...and though he tried his best to stay on task, you could tell he had the following day's course on his mind!
Nate Chambers & Rolling Stone II had a very nice test, which earned them a 53.1 and a seventh place finish at the end of the day.
Both boys looking very well-turned out!
Peter Barry & Kilrodan Abbott were tied for tenth after a great test
Poor Polar Storm was trying very hard to be good for Katie Willis, and had some truly wonderful moments in his test...and he let out the cutest little whinny right after his final halt!
This handsome grey has a famous half-sibling - Allison Springer's Arthur (both sired by Phyllis Dawson's stallion Brandenburg's Windstar).
Thea Johnson & Caramelo
It takes a village to get a horse all spiffed up before dressage...or at least a clan of dedicated grooms!
Will's grooms helped Twizzel's coat gleam, but the horse's lovely movement shone all on its own - they ended with a 4th place finish on a 50.9.
Kendal Lehari & Understudy had a very nice test, finishing in ninth with a 54.4.
It was tight at the top of the leaderboard, with 15 competitors all within a few points of each other.
