Photos from today's cross-country rounds at the 2009 Rolex Kentucky Three- Day Event in Lexington, Kentucky. Headley Britannia galloped 'round Michael Etherington-Smith's course lickety split, jumping to the head of the pack with Australian Lucinda Fredericks. Check out the latest news! Lucinda Fredericks (AUS) & Headley Britannia blasted into the lead with a double-clear round.
Bettina Hoy (GER) & the 18-year-old Ringwood Cockatoo picked up 9.6 time penalties to drop into 2nd.
Hoy said she and her longtime partner felt like an old married couple on course!
Buck Davidson & My Boy Bobby held onto their 3rd placed position in the gelding's first four-star.
Davidson was pleased as punch with Bobby's efforts, and surely his father Bruce was equally as proud of his son, too!
Tim Lips (NED) had a brilliant double-clear ride aboard Concrex Oncarlos to stay in fourth place.
Nicolas Touzaint (FRA) and Hidalgo de L'ile jumped up to 5th after his fault-free round.



Lucy Wiegersma (GBR) & Woodfalls Inigo Jones were quick and tidy through the Duck Marsh, and stand in 6th.
One of two British riders to post a double-clear round was Oliver Townend and Carousel Quest, who sit in 7th.
William Fox-Pitt (GBR) jumped into 8th with Seacookie after only gaining 2.4 time faults
Last year's Rolex champions Phillip Dutton & Connaught performed a foot-perfect round to move up one position into 9th
Stephen Bradley & Brandenburg's Joshua added only 0.4 time faults to settle into 10th
Rolex Rookie Leyland gave Amy Tryon a fabulous fault-free ride to move into 11th.
Dutton had his other double-clear ride on Woodburn, and finished in 12th
13th place holders Missy Ransehousen & Critical Decision jumped boldly around the course, gaining only 0.4 time faults.
Arthur looked spot-on for Allison Springer, adding only 4 time faults to their score, leaving them in 14th place.
Nicola Wilson (GBR) & Opposition Buzz performed at the top of their game to take home the next position after posting a double-clear round.
Vaunted jumped very well around the four-star course with Rolex rookie Ashley Adams, adding only a handful of time penalties to their score, which bumped them up 9 places to sit in 16th
Ralph Holstein and Arctic Dancer posted a very quick double-clear round in their very first Rolex competition
West Coaster Jolie Sexson & Killian O'Connor looked very good on cross-country, and picked up only a handful of time penalties.
Ballynoecastle RM jumped beautifully for Buck Davidson, and seemed nonplussed from a dog attack earlier on course. 'Reggie' had a refusal right after the incident, but it was later revoked, as well as several time penalties.
Sara Dierks' long-strided partner Somerset nipped around the course easily--Dierks seemed delighted with their double-clear round, which moved them up 23 places in the standings.
Young Cruise Lion jumped very well for the experienced Bruce Davidson, picking up only a few time penalties at the gelding's first four-star outing.
Tiffani Loudon-Meetze and Above N' Beyond moved up a few spots to 22nd in the standings after a nice run 'round the course.
Colombo performed like a champ for Canadian Selena O'Hanlon, and gathered only time faults.
Young Rider Bonner Carpenter had to be thrilled with Acapulco Jazz's performance, after they accrued only a handful of time penalties.
Esker Riada made the tough course seem like a piece of cake with Cayla Kitayama!
Hollywood jumped very well for Kelly Sult, picking up only 5.2 time faults
Syd Kent's otherwise breathtaking round with Jan Byyny was marred by a run-out at the challenging brush at the Normandy Bank.
Peter Thomsen of Germany had a great ride with the Ghost of Hamish, but a single run-out at the Squirrel Tail
William Fox-Pitt's Navigator jumped boldly around the course, but just had a glance-off at the Normandy Bank brush.
Debbie Rosen and The Alchemyst had a nice, bold round, gaining only time faults.
Jose Ortelli, Jr. of Argentina gave Jos Aladar a superb ride, and likewise added only time faults to his score.
Ronald Zabala-Goetschel (ECU) gave Che Mr. Wiseguy a very sensible ride, taking many of the longer routes, and galloped home with no jumping penalties.
Though he was jumping quite well, Manny was feeling overly bold for Canadian rider Diana Burnett, and she crossed her tracks when circling in the Hollow, picking up 20 penalties.
Stephanie Boyer commends Macloud on a job well done, as they jumped cleanly around the course.
Canadian rider Kyle Carter & Madison Park picked up 20 penalties after crossing his tracks at the Infield Water complex.
Eventing legend Bruce Davidson & Jam picked up 20 penalties at the troublesome Double Diamonds, but nipped around well for the rest of the course.
Gordonstown jumped beautifully for Young Rider Madeline Blackman, picking up an unfortunate 20 for crossing her tracks, and also a few time faults as well.
Tara Ziegler & Buckingham Place had a bit of trouble, picking up a few stops, but still completed the prestigious course.

The 2025 USEA Eventing Coaches Program (ECP) Symposium, Hosted by Galway Downs is just one week away, and the USEA is proud to present the list of ECP Faculty that will be on site leading this three-day, immersive educational experience. On Jan. 14-16, eventing enthusiasts will convene in Temecula, California, to learn how coaches can hone their evaluation skills at all levels by identifying the correct, incremental steps of progression needed for each individual horse and rider combination. The third annual USEA Emerging Athletes U21 program (EA21) National Camp concluded on Saturday after a week filled with education and enjoyment.
