A big focus of the T3DE is education. At each event top-level clinicians are brought in to instruct the competitors.
Before the start of competition, riders are given the chance to practice Steeplechase and hack roads and tracks.
The jog is often a time of nerves as the competitors hope to be allowed to continue on.
The jog can also be an exciting chance to show off your horse, who is groomed to perfection.
Practicing how to jog is important to properly present your horse and make him shine.
The veterinary inspection is also a great time to bond with your horse at eye-level.
Clinician, Dorothy Crowell, demonstrates to the competitors proper Steeplechasing position.
The horses of the T3DE competitors were given the best care possible, and ice played a huge role in keeping them sound after the endurance day.
Brushing through the steeplechase fences is one of the most exhilarating feelings for the T3DE competitor.
A great support team is imperative to having a relaxed ten-minute box experience.
The riders were all smiles on Endurance Day!
Resting up and reliving the excitement of steeplechase in the ten-minute box is important for having a great cross country run.
The camaraderie developed during the event among the competitors is often due to the awesome parties thrown by the organizers.
Stadium can be bittersweet as it is the last phase of the T3DE.
The award ceremony and victory gallop is a blast for riders and horses alike.
Jumping on Sunday can often be a challenge for the tired horses, but with good conditioning it can be a great end to a fun weekend!
