By USEA | September 10, 2009

As the trailers rolled in from every corner of the continent and competitors unloaded their horses and began to settle in for the excitement ahead, intrepid USEA Interns Leslie Mintz and Erica Larson were on hand to capture all the exciting moments of the 2009 Bit of Britain/USEA American Eventing Championships! For complete coverage of this year’s AEC be sure to head to the USEA homepage and Eventing USA Blog every night. The USEA is delighted to be able to provide photo galleries, videos, and interviews to keep all the eventing fans at home up-to-date with all the latest Championship news. Photos By Leslie Mintz and Erica Larson (Above Left: Madeline Wickwire and her equine partner, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, travelled from Northern Virginia to compete at their first AEC. The pair is contesting the Novice Amateur division.)

Heading to the AEC? Be sure to let all your fellow drivers know!
Leslie Law gives a dressage lesson to one of his students as a warm-up for tomorrow.
The horses were lucky to be able to school in the dressage arenas to get their horses used to the atmosphere.
Even the vendors got into the AEC spirit!
Competitors could be seen all over Lamplight taking their horses on hacks.
Lamplight has lovely grounds to stretch your horses legs after a long trailer ride.
These Jack Russells were doing a great job bringing a cuteness factor to the show grounds.
Walking in perfect harmony, this pair took advantage of the beautiful weather to stretch their legs.
The horses from Full Moon Farm in Maryland were all very friendly and happy to pose for the camera!
Dogs were around every corner waiting patiently for their owners.
Dogs of every shape and size could be seen on the show grounds – should make for great competition at the Saturday night Dog Show.
This horse received a soothing pat after executing a perfect square halt during a dressage schooling session.
Taking your horse on a hack is a great way to explore Lamplight.
The landscaping at the Equestrian Center is truly magnificent!
