The United States Eventing Association, Inc. (USEA) is thrilled to announce that Ocala Horse Properties will support the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) Program this year as the title sponsor of the USEA YEH Symposium. The Ocala Horse Properties USEA YEH Symposium will be held in Ocala, Florida next Monday, Feb. 16 and features a morning session on evaluating jumping, galloping, and conformation at Majestic Oaks Ocala, as well as a YEH Masterclass in the evening at HITS Ocala. Registration is open now.

“As horse owners, we’ve always believed in including young horses in our program,” said Chris Desino, co-owner of Ocala Horse Properties. “It’s one of the best ways to ensure they’re given the right start in the eventing world. Programs like the YEH do an exceptional job of showcasing and rewarding horses that are educated correctly and trained the right way, and through this, the entire U.S. eventing program can continue to excel at every level.”

Ocala Horse Properties, the no. 1 ranked realtor in Ocala, was formed in 2007 by twin brothers Chris and Rob Desino. In 2011, Matt Varney completed the team, and today, they represent the largest portfolio of horse farms in the world. This boutique real estate company operates with one goal in mind: to completely satisfy each client one at a time. The team at Ocala Horse Properties takes great pride in applying personal attention to every detail and offering a hands-on approach that allows them to really get to know their clients and their needs.

If you are looking for an agent that understands the equestrian lifestyle and shares your passion for Ocala farms, Ocala Horse Properties is here to help. For those interested in equestrian real estate in Wellington, Florida, the Desino’s also own and operate Wellington Equestrian Realty with the same principles of providing unparalleled customer service and access to some of Wellington’s most premier equestrian neighborhoods, shows and facilities.

About the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) Program

The Young Event Horse (YEH) Program was first established in 2004 as an eventing talent search. Much like similar programs in Europe, the YEH program was designed to identify young horses aged four- and five-years-old, that possess the talent and disposition to, with proper training, excel at the uppermost levels of the sport. The ultimate goal of the program is to distinguish horses with the potential to compete at the four- and five-star levels, but many fine horses that excel at the lower levels are also showcased by the program.

The YEH program provides an opportunity for breeders and owners to exhibit the potential of their young horses while encouraging the breeding and development of top event horses for the future. The program rewards horses who are educated and prepared in a correct and progressive manner. At qualifying events, youngsters complete a dressage test and a jumping/galloping/general impression phase. At Championships, young horses are also evaluated on their conformation in addition to the dressage test and jumping/galloping/general impression phase.
