Nutrena USEA AEC Kicks Off with Welcome Party and Mustang Demo

The 2014 Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships welcomed over 400 competitors from nearly 40 states to the Texas Rose Horse Park today. As rigs rolled in and competitors set up their stalls, sponsors and vendors also got settled and the trade fair saw its first customers.
The Welcome Party and Opening Ceremony featured live music, delicious food, and Elisa Wallace's Mustang Demo. Fledge and Rune are two young Mustangs that Wallace rescued and has trained extensively in a short amount of time. Some of their "tricks" include bridleless flatwork including advanced movements like flying changes and passage, and laying down or rearing up on command.
Tomorrow, competition begins at 8:30 a.m. with the Preliminary Horse division, and the Adequan USEA Gold Cup competitors will complete their first phase from 3:00-4:55 p.m. See a full competition schedule and ride times.
