Now that the excitement from Rolex Kentucky is slowing fizzling out, you can keep the adrenaline pumping for the next four-star event—the prestigious Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials, set to kick off on April 30th. Unfortunately, none of our American riders will be making the trek across the Atlanta to compete in the four-star event. Scope out the line-up for this year’s event, join course designer Hugh Thomas along with top rider Polly Stockton on a cross-country course walk, and enjoy some of last year’s highlights.
“Hugh Thomas’s cross country challenge for the 2010 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials is both imposing in size and demanding of very accurate riding from the eighty plus competitors likely to start.”
Looks like Americans Phillip Dutton/Woodburn and Jolie Wentworth/Killian O’Connor were originally entered, but have both scratched. I’m sure Phillip was still pleased with his decision to run Rolex Kentucky instead – 2nd place (for the 6th year in a row…) isn’t too shabby!

Chef d’equipe of the British Eventing Team, Yogi Breisner looks forward to Badminton 2010 with some nostalgic memories from past Badmintons.
Last year, it was Oliver Townend and Flint Curtis who led the victory gallop… who will it be this year? Daisy Berkeley & Spring Along? Kristina Cook & Miner’s Frolic? William Fox-Pitt on either Macchiato or Seacookie? Caroline Powell & Lenamore? Lots of fantastic combinations this year – should be an exciting event!

The 2025 USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships were an incredible success, ushering the programs forward as the first standalone championships knock on the door for 2026. The Intercollegiate and IEL Programs were merged for their year-end championships to ensure that the USEA’s junior and young adult members have a goal to continue to pursue their passion for eventing throughout their educational years and beyond, and the support the event has received in the last two years has been astounding.
