Eventing is thriving as it returns for its second year at the Colorado Horse Park, thanks to the new owners, Singletree Equestrian LLC. Building on the success of 2024, we’re excited to elevate the experience in 2025.

With your generous support last year, we achieved incredible milestones: acquiring a 40-foot storage container, taming five years’ worth of overgrown grass and weeds, upgrading the sound system, purchasing essential tools and a generator, restoring existing cross-country jumps, constructing 20 new jumps, and hosting clinics, schooling sessions, and of course the Bayou Gulch Horse Trials at the Colorado Horse Park.

But we are not done! This year, we’re taking it up a notch. The Bayou Gulch Horse Trials presented by MagnaWave, held August 2-3, will introduce the Preliminary division—a rare and exciting opportunity in our region—drawing even more equestrian talent and fans to the Colorado Horse Park. Our course designer and builder, Rob Mobley, will lead the way to add another 15 jumps this year as well as design the Starter-Preliminary cross-country courses. The quality of footing for the soundness and longevity of our horses is of utmost importance, and we listened! The Bayou Gulch Open Space Initiative is purchasing an aerator for the cross-country footing and renting the prestigious Coors Arena in the Colorado Horse Park for the show jumping finale.

To get started, we invite you to support eventing in Colorado and join us at the Bucks for Bayou Benefit on April 12 from 3-6 p.m. at the Colorado Horse Park. This standout event features an online and in-person silent auction with items being added daily. No matter where you are, you can bid on items that you don't have to be in Colorado to enjoy such as a lesson with Tamie Smith, a Ride-iQ year membership, items from Hilltop Farm LLC, USEA goodies, and more! If you would like to add your business to the auction, just reach out. This celebration attracts a diverse crowd—from pony clubs and 4-H members to dressage riders, trail riders, fox hunters, combined drivers, and eventing aficionados—offering you direct exposure to a loyal and engaged audience.

As a 501(c)(3) organization through the Bayou Gulch Open Space Initiative, all donations are tax-deductible. Learn how to sponsor these efforts by visiting the “How to Help” tab on our website. We can’t wait to welcome you to this exciting event and share in the return of eventing at the Colorado Horse Park!
