IEA Horse Trials Adds SmartPak Equine USEA Training Level Three-Day Event To Calendar
The ever-growing SmartPak Equine USEA Training Level Three-Day Series has just added another date for 2009. The Indiana Eventing Association announced the addition of a Training Three-Day Event to run May 28-31, in conjunction with the Indiana Eventing Association Horse Trials held at the Hosier Horse Park in Franklin, IN.
Participants in the SmartPak Equine USEA Training Three-Day Series enjoy the thrill of a tradition long-format three-day event while also receiving top-notch instruction from some of the nations best riders and trainers.
The IEA Training Three-Day will feature clinicians Dorothy Crowell, Melissa Miller, Howard Moore, Chris Newton, Nadeem Noon, and Cathy Wieschoff.
To qualify, participants must have completed four training level competitions within an 18-month period with three clear cross-country rounds and no more than 20 cross-country penalties at one competition. Completion of a preliminary competition will also count as a qualification with the same penalty stipulation.
Barns will open for the IEA Training Three-Day on Wednesday, May 27. All competitors are required to attend the mandatory meeting at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 28.
Dressage tests will commence on Friday, May 29, in a large arena under Training Level Test B with two judges.
Saturday's speed and endurance phases will run at the following speeds:
Phase A—Roads and Tracks: Approximately 2000 M @ 220 MPM
Phase B—Steeplechase: 1250 M @ 520 MPM
Phase C: 2800 M @ 160 MPM
Phase D—Cross-country: 2400 M @ 425 MPM
