GMHA to Host Future, Young, and New Event Horse Classes at June Horse Trials

South Woodstock, VT – 4-5-12 – The Green Mountain Horse Association will host its first Future Event Horse, Young Event Horse and New Event Horse Test on June 1, 2012 at the newly revitalized facility in South Woodstock, VT.

The program will offer owners the opportunity to show their young stock to the eventing community. Divisions will include yearlings through five year olds as well as a new category defined by United States Eventing Association called New Event Horse.

Yearlings through three year olds will be shown in hand and judged on conformation and gait. The four and five year olds and the New Event Horses will be judged in hand for conformation, in a dressage test, and over a jumping course for suitability to become high caliber eventing horses.

Opening date to enter the event is April 17.

Martin 10th Individually, U.S. Team Seventh at 2024 Paris Olympics

The U.S. Eventing Team wrapped up their Paris Olympics this afternoon with a seventh-place finish on a score of 133.7. Boyd Martin and Federman B and Liz Halliday and Nutcracker made it into the individual jumping final where they finished 10th and 19th, respectively.

Meghan O’Donoghue and Palm Crescent Secure the Advanced Win at Millbrook Horse Trials

Going into today’s show jumping phase at the Millbrook Horse Trials, Meghan O’Donoghue and her 18-year-old Thoroughbred gelding Palm Crescent could afford to have one rail down and still claim first place in the Advanced division. They left all the rails up and cantered across the finish line in the time allowed to clinch the win.
