The USEA is proud to welcome Five Star Tack, designers and distributors of high quality bridles and leather goods, as a Legacy sponsor of the 2010 SmartPak Equine USEA Training Three-Day Series.
“The USEA is excited to have Five Star Tack sponsor the 2010 SmartPak Equine USEA Training Three-Day Series. The Training Three-Day series is very popular with our members, and what better way to reward them than with fabulous prizes?” said Jo Whitehouse, CEO of USEA.
A relatively new company, Five Star Tack offers exceptionally crafted products that are designed in-house and custom manufactured in England using the best leather and fittings available. Their product line is constantly evolving to meet the needs of customers ranging from eventing to hunter/jumper riders and can respond to individual requests for that special piece of tack. The products are known for their distinctive stitch accent and rich look and feel.
“Five Star Tack is thrilled to be a part of the Training Level Three Day Series and to be able to give back to the sport of eventing”, said Jamie Greene, owner and designer of Five Star Tack. “The Series is a great educational program for both riders and horses and with it’s increasing popularity I think it will provide great exposure for our products.”
The SmartPak Equine Training Three-Day Series has continued to gain momentum and support from USEA members over the past several years and has expanded to include 12 events around the country. Currently, it’s one of the most popular programs offered by the USEA, and enjoyed by many different types of competitors – from the junior or amateur rider on a seasoned campaigner, to a professional preparing their young horse for its career.
Winners of each of the T3D events across the U.S. will be given one of the prestigious Five Star Tack “Archetype” bridles as a prize.
Twenty percent of Five Star Tack's profits are donated to selected charities engaged in animal welfar as well as cancer research and awareness. These charities include the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, and LiveStrong.
Esteemed competitors such Doug Payne, Kristin Schmolze, Sara Mittleider, and Kate Samuels all enjoy using Five Star Tack products with their upper-level event horses.
“Five Star Tack products offer exceptional quality and have a very distinct styling,” said Doug Payne. “Five Star Tack also donates a percentage of their profits to charities, which is very generous. It’s great that Five Star Tack is sponsoring the Training Three-Day Series, because the support that these high-caliber companies offer the Series is so important—it helps in advocating the prestige of competing in a long-format event.”
“Five Star Tack is really excellent because of the personal attention that Jamie Greene puts into each and every product,” said Kate Samuels. “This year she spent a lot of time researching different leather products and seriously improving the quality of everything. Five Star Tack really cares about providing the best quality tack for your horse, as well as giving back to the community. Jamie is a huge supporter of some of the best up and coming athletes, and she makes a really big effort to sponsor important events like the Training Three-Day Series. Five Star Tack is a really superb company that equips riders with the best products while encouraging the heart of the community.”

The 2025 USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships were an incredible success, ushering the programs forward as the first standalone championships knock on the door for 2026. The Intercollegiate and IEL Programs were merged for their year-end championships to ensure that the USEA’s junior and young adult members have a goal to continue to pursue their passion for eventing throughout their educational years and beyond, and the support the event has received in the last two years has been astounding.
