The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is pleased to announce the dates and locations for the 2014 Future Event Horse (FEH) and Young Event Horse (YEH) Championships on both the east and west coast.
The FEH West Coast Championship will be held October 30, 2014 at Galway Downs (Temecula, Calif.), followed by the East Coast Championship at Loch Moy Farm (Adamstown, Md.) on November 2, 2014.
Loch Moy Farm will also be offering an FEH competition on November 1st, which participants can use as a qualifier for the Championship the next day.
Upper level rider, ICP level 4 instructor, and FEH Committee member Robin Walker is confirmed as one of the judges for both the East and West Coast FEH finals. ICP Level 3 instructor, “R” Dressage judge, and upper level rider Debbie Adams will be joining Walker on the East Coast, while the well-respected dressage and eventing judge Cathy Tucker-Slaterbeck will be judging on the West Coast with Walker.
There will be great prizes at the FEH Championships this year, including ribbons, trophies, tack, stable supplies, gift cards and more. In addition, the West Coast winners of the 2-year old and 3-year old divisions will receive free entries in the Training Three-Day Event at Galway Downs (part of the SmartPak USEA Classic Series) when the horses reach 5 years of age.
The 2014 YEH East Coast Championship will be held on October 16-17 at Fair Hill International in Elkton, Maryland. The YEH West Coast Championship will be held at Galway Downs (Temecula, Calif.) on October 30-31. The judges for both coasts will include Cathy Tucker-Slaterbeck, upper level rider and judge Bea di Grazia, as well as internationally renowned breeder, horseman, and coach, William Micklem.
Fabulous prizes are returning for the YEH Championships, including the Holekamp/Turner YEH Lion d’Angers Grant, which will award the highest scored 5-year-old at the Championship with a cash prize that enables them to travel to the FEI World Young Horse Championships at Le Lion d’Angers in France for the 7-year old two-star Championships.
