Area VI Girl Power at 2010 NAJYRC

Rails were costly during the final phase of the 2010 NAJYRC in Lexington, Kentucky, and the standings shuffled dramatically in a nail-biting finish, especially in the CCI2*. Kelly Pugh (Area VI) and Copycat Chloe, a Trakehner-cross mare, were one of two competitors in the division to post a fault-free round, bolstering them two positions to clinch the individual gold medal. Missy Miller (Area III) and TSF Amazing Grace provided the second double-clear, bumping them up four spots to take home the individual silver. Danielle Ditching (Area III) and Tops had just a single rail to finish with the individual bronze. In the CCI1*, Kelly Loria (Area VI, pictured above) and her Thoroughbred mare Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, who also had one of two double-clear rounds, led the event from flagfall to finish, culminating a wonderful weekend on their dressage score of 40.0 to earn the individual gold medal. Claire Kelley (Area IV) and Clifton Peekachu had two rails but still hung onto the silver medal, and Lizzie Snow (Area VII) and Pop Star had just a single rail to move from seventh to take home the individual bronze.
