The Bluebonnet Horse Expo is a day full of horses: learning, shopping, adopting and more! The event includes riding and training clinics with Mark and Miranda Lyon, Aaron and Riva England, Dr. David Warrren, Michael Battenfield and more. The event offers plenty of shopping with a horse-themed Art Auction, tack sale, live auction of saddles and other equipment, and vendor area. Attendees get access to all this great information for only $8/person. As one person said, “It costs way more than $8 to see just one of these great clinicians – you are getting a great deal the second you walk in the door!”
Attendees can meet approximately 50-60 horses, donkeys and mules of all breeds who are available for adoption through Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society. Thirty of those horses will be showing off their skills in the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge, a training competition in which professional trainers and foster homes have ninety days to work with a rescue horse. Pre-approved adopters will qualify for adoption fee discounts and may take their new horses home from the Expo while new adopters will have the chance to apply to adopt and reserve the horse(s) they want to take home.
BEHS needs help to make this a successful event. The organization is currently seeking:
· Event Sponsors – Sponsorships start at just $25 and the organization offers varying benefits depending on the sponsorship level.
· Vendors – Vendor space starts at $50 and gives all vendors access to hundreds of horse lovers.
· Tack and other horse-related items – The rescue needs new and gently used tack, farm and ranch items, and horse and ranch-themed jewelry and home décor for a live auction, silent auction and sale area. All donations are tax-deductible.
Proceeds from the event benefit the horses of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society, a nonprofit equine welfare organization that helps starving and abused horses across Texas.
Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of equines by educating and helping owners, assisting law enforcement agencies, rehabilitating abused and neglected equines, and placing them into safe, permanent homes. With the on-going drought and economic hardships, BEHS has been overwhelmed with calls about starving horses throughout Texas. The Bluebonnet Horse Expo will be BEHS's major fundraiser for the year, and will directly impact the number of horses they will be able to help in the future.

here was a dramatic finish to cross-country day at the MARS Badminton Horse Trials when the top two riders, Oliver Townend, with Paul and Diana Ridgeon's mare Cooley Rosalent, and Ros Canter with Lordships Graffalo, were both awarded 15 penalties for going the wrong side of a fence flag.
The Yanmar America Tryon International Spring Three-Day Event presented by Tow & Collect kicked off Thursday with dressage in the International Stadium and Rings 6/7, continuing into Friday.
Oliver Townend, who has never made any secret of his desire for another MARS Badminton Horse Trials victory, is now at the head of the leaderboard at the conclusion of the dressage phase.
