Alternate Emilee Libby Awarded H.E. 'Tex' Sutton Forwarding Company Travel Grant To Compete At Jersey Fresh International CCI3*
Vero Beach, Fla. - Emilee Libby of Temecula, Calif., has been awarded the 2014 H.E. 'Tex' Sutton Forwarding Company Travel Grant as the first ranked alternate after Helen Bouscaren, the original grant recipient.
Bouscaren notified the Professional Riders Organization that she would be unable to use the grant to travel to the Bromont Three Day Event in June. Libby will use the travel grant to compete at Jersey Fresh International CCI***, May 8-11th with Nonsensical, her 11-year old off-the-track-Thoroughbred gelding (Point Given - On The Brink).
"I got an early morning call last week from Samantha [Lendl] telling me I had received the 'Tex' Sutton Travel Grant as Helen Bouscaren has unfortunately needed to change her plans," said Libby. "I am of course bummed for Helen, but thrilled and extremely thankful to PRO & H.E. 'Tex' Sutton Company for awarding this grant to help get riders to three-day events on both coasts. This grant is a huge support for my trip, as well as weight off my shoulders to cover travel expenses to New Jersey for the Jersey Fresh International Three-Day. I have an amazing support group of family and friends, and now 'Tex' Sutton and PRO have made an exciting competition that much better!"
The H.E. "Tex" Sutton Travel Grant required that applicants had a horse aimed at either Jersey Fresh International or the Bromont Three Day Event CCI***. Both competitions are part of the 2014 PRO Tour Series.
H.E. "Tex" Sutton Forwarding Company is the official U.S. Equine Air Carrier of PRO. The travel grant was inaugurated last fall. Allison Springer was awarded the 2013 travel grant with Copycat Chloe for travel to the west coast.
