All Forty Pairs Accepted After First Horse Inspection at Great Meadow International

All forty competitors were accepted today at the 2016 Land Rover Great Meadow International, presented by Adequan® including the pairs representing the United States for the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ this weekend and the Olympic Games next month in Rio de Janeiro.
Great Meadow welcomes teams from The United States, Canada and Great Britain this weekend in the fifth leg of the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ Series - and the first ever being held outside of Europe. Yesterday, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) announced the U.S. riders, which was a familiar sight seeing as these are our Olympic team members on their direct reserve horses.
The group includes Phillip Dutton and Ann Jones and Thomas Tierney’s Fernhill Fugitive, Lauren Kieffer and Marie Le Menstrel’s Meadowbrook’s Scarlett, Boyd Martin and Gloria Callen’s Welcome Shadow and Clark Montgomery and Holly & William Becker, Kathryn Kraft and Jessica Montgomery’s Loughan Glen with Maya Black and Dawn Dofelmier’s Doesn’t Play Fair as the team alternates.
The U.S. Olympic Team is also using Great Meadow International as a last preparatory event. The team riders remain the same with Dutton on Fernhill Cubalawn, Kieffer on Veronica, Martin on the Blackfoot Mystery Syndicate’s Blackfoot Mystery and Montgomery again on Loughan Glen.
Dressage and show jumping phases will unveil the facility’s new $1 Million arena tomorrow followed by the cross-country phase on Sunday.
