Hundreds of riders made the annual trek to the beautiful Rebecca Farm in Kalispell, Montana, last week to compete in divisions from Beginner Novice through CCI4*-L. The Event held two USEA Classic Series divisions, and we caught up with the two winners to learn more about their experience.

An ambitious start time of 6:30 a.m. for the final day of the USEA Emerging Athlete U21 (EA21) East Coast II Regional Clinic meant riders and horses could beat the southern heat. Last fall while competing at the Virginia Horse Center Eventing Fall Horse Trials, Mandolin Whitten and her Virginia Tech teammates won the intercollegiate challenge and started to get some exciting ideas. It had been nearly three years since the school had fielded a team at the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championship, and this time, they had enough riders to form a team and a half.
A super day of FEI cross-country at The Event at Rebecca Farm saw two leaders retain their places going into show jumping, while the standings in three divisions got shaken and stirred.
FEI dressage wrapped on Friday at The Event at Rebecca Farm leaving most of the standings tight at the top. In fact, there's a tie atop the CCI4*-L between two pairs with many similarities. Karen O'Neal and Clooney 14 and Jennie Brannigan and Pascal share the lead on a 33.8. Both have been bringing these horses along for several years and both horses are debuting at this level.

Tommy Greengard and That's Me Z sit atop the CCI3*-S, the first of The Event at Rebecca Farm's five FEI divisions to conclude the dressage phase. The second half of the 34-horse CCI2*-L field will be staged Friday, along with dressage for CCI4*-L and CCI4*-S, and the CCI3*-L.
