2011 Nutrena/USEA American Eventing Championships July Update

The 2011 Nutrena/USEA American Eventing Championships Presented By Bit of Britain are inching closer ever day. The highly-anticipated event will be held this year from September 7-11 at the breathtaking Chattahoochee Hills Farm in Fairburn, Georgia. Planning on attending this year’s Championships? Here are some need-to-know details!

The opening date for the AEC is July 26 and the event closes on August 23. Chattahoochee Hills is once again offering a generous early-bird discount. If you enter the AEC before August 2, you will receive $100 off your entry fee.

The divisions offered this year are remaining unchanged from last year and will include: Advanced, Intermediate, Preliminary Horse, Preliminary Amateur, Junior/Young Rider Preliminary, Training Horse, Training Amateur, Junior Training, Novice Horse, Novice Amateur, Junior Novice, Beginner Novice Horse, Beginner Novice Amateur, and Junior Beginner Novice. Qualifications for all the divisions are available on the USEA website here.

The Advanced, Intermediate, and Preliminary divisions will tentatively be doing dressage on Thursday, cross-country on Friday, and show jumping on Saturday. While the Training, Novice, and Beginner Novice riders will begin their competition on Friday with dressage, cross-country on Saturday, and show jump on Sunday. Of course fabulous parties will be interspersed throughout the weekend with a Welcome Party including a Nutrena Retriever Demonstration and a fun-filled competitor’s party on Friday. Be sure to keep an eye on the Chatt Hills Website for more detailed schedule, ride times should be available on September 1.

This year Chatt Hills will only have a limited number of hook-ups, but camping will be available free of charge all weekend. Be sure to book your hotel rooms early and mention that you are competing at Chattahoochee Hills for a special rate! Local hotels include: Hampton Inn, (678) 782-4600. Sleep Inn, (678) 782-4700.
