The 2020 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention is upon us, listeners! Being held virtually this year, the USEA Virtual Convention will run Tuesday, December 8 through Friday, December 11, culminating in the USEA Virtual Annual Meeting & Keynote Address on Saturday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time. This week's show features host Nicole Brown speaking with USEA CEO Rob Burk and Diarm Byrne of EquiRatings about the upcoming week.
Burk leads off with an explanation of the USEA Annual Meeting & Convention, for those who might not have attended one in person in years past. Hosting the Convention virtually this year gives the USEA the chance to broadcast a taste of what the in-person event is like to a larger audience. Byrne chimes in with his observations of the Convention, which he and Sam Watson have attended for several years.
Brown and Burk preview a few of the virtual sessions that will be open and available for viewers, including the Rules Open Forum (Tuesday, December 8 at 12:00 p.m. ET), the USEF High Performance session (Wednesday, December 9 at 3:00 p.m. ET), and Engineering Success - From Personal Milestones to Team Gold Medals with EquiRatings (Friday, December 11 at 12:00 p.m. ET). On Saturday, attention will turn to the USEA Virtual Annual Meeting & Keynote Address, held virtually via Zoom at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time. The Annual Meeting of Members is a time for the eventing community to gather to review the successes of the past year and vote on important business of the Association. Following the Annual Meeting of Members is the keynote address, which this year will feature two female eventing powerhouses: 2020 USEA Rider of the Year Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp and British five-star eventer Piggy March. Learn more about our keynote speakers here.
The USEA Virtual Annual Meeting & Keynote Address will be free to join with the only requirement being that you must be a registered 2021 USEA member (at any level) to participate. Membership must be renewed by Wednesday, December 9 to receive information on how to register for the Annual Meeting. Click here for more information on registering for Annual Meeting.
