Virginia Horse Center Fall Schooling Horse Trials Return Aug. 23-24

The Virginia Horse Center is set to host its popular Fall Schooling Horse Trials and Combined Test the weekend of Aug. 23-24. Designed for riders of all levels looking to gain mileage in a relaxed, educational setting, the weekend includes a full schooling day on Saturday and an unrecognized competition on Sunday.
Saturday, Aug. 23: Open Schooling Day
From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., riders will have the opportunity to school all three phases—dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. The show jumping ring will operate on an open schedule to allow trainers to bring in groups and adjust fences as needed, with safety monitors on site. Entry is $75, and riders may pre-register at EventEntries.com or enter day-of with cash or check. Vouchers will be offered to riders who pre-enter but later scratch. Grounds fees and stabling options are available.
Sunday, Aug. 24: Unrecognized Horse Trials & Combined Tests
The competition offers horse trials divisions from Starter through Training level, as well as Combined Test (CT) options from Intro through Modified. Riders may also enter a dressage test of choice for $35. Full horse trial entry is $145 and CT is $75. All Sunday entries must be made in advance via EventEntries.com, with a closing date of Tuesday, Aug. 12. Late entries will be accepted through Aug. 18, space permitting, with a $25 late fee. Ride times will be posted on Aug. 21 by 10 p.m. on the Virginia Horse Center and EventEntries websites.
Cross-country course design is provided by Tyson Rementer, with divisions tailored to a wide range of rider levels and goals. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged, please contact Gammon Lee at [email protected] to get involved.
