The highlight of the 2018 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention was the USEA's Eventing Hall of Fame Gala where, amid smiles, laughter, and even some tears, Karen O'Connor, Dr. A. Martin "Marty" Simensen, Out and About, Howard Simpson, Tim and Nina Gardner, and Captain Mark Phillips joined the 40 other eventing legends in the USEA's Eventing Hall of Fame. Their contributions to the sport of eventing are too many to count, and their mark will be left on our sport forever. We are pleased to present to you the 2018 USEA's Eventing Hall of Fame inductees! About the USEA Annual Meeting & Convention
The USEA Annual Meeting & Convention takes place each December and brings together a large group of dedicated USEA members and supporters to discuss, learn, and enjoy being surrounded by other eventing enthusiasts. The USEA organizes multiple seminars in addition to committee meetings, open forums, and tons of fun! The 2019 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention is taking place at the Sheraton Boston Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, December 11-15, 2019. The VIP Volunteer: Laurie Hogan Finds Peace in Volunteering
Strange as it may seem to some die-hard eventing fans, not everyone seeks out horses in their lives. Sometimes, the horse world chooses the equestrian. And that’s exactly what happened to this month’s VIP Volunteer Laurie Hogan. Hogan has two main passions in life—volunteering at horse trials and jam sessions with a group of local musicians.

Meet Area VI Teen Harvest Renfro, Who’s Representing the True Spirit of Eventing
Area VI’s Harvest Renfro, 13, and her pony, Take That, or “Robbie,” recently won their first blue ribbon at Introductory at Ram Tap’s February Horse Trials (Fresno, California) on their score of 43.9. Harvest’s accomplishment was even more impressive because she was competing in an open class.
