USEA Wishes Alexandra Barry a Speedy Recovery

By USEA | February 23, 2009

Canadian Young Rider, Alexandra Barry, is recovering in hospital from a head injury received when she fell from her horse in the junior training division at Pine Top Horse Trials last Sunday, February 15. Alex was riding a very experienced horse when he tripped at a coop. Alex received immediate medical treatment and was transported to the Augusta Medical Center. Her parents, Peter and Susan Barry, requested complete privacy at the time of the accident; a request that was given the greatest respect by the USEA.

"Glen and I have been in daily contact with Peter and Susan," said Janet Wilson of Pine Top Horse Trials, "and I am glad to say they are now ready to report that Alexandra is making positive progress. There is no doubt that the healing process will take some time, but they are encouraged by the continued signs of improvement."

The USEA extends best wishes to Alex and her family and looks forward to her full recovery.
