My name is Andrea Glazer, I am a sophomore at Louisville Collegiate School, and I started riding at the age of six at Spring Run Farm! I really got serious into riding when I got my first pony at the age of eight; Stormy Weather, also known as Stormy.
Stormy was the cutest little pony, and she was a great first pony too! We would always go around the cross-country course decked out in pink and purple; we were definitely an eye catcher to say the least! I evented her through Novice but sadly outgrew her so sold her to a wonderful family at the age of 11. She was perfect to show me through the ropes of Eventing!

Rodney was my next pony, who I bought when I was 11, he was so cute with his brown and white spots! He was not so perfect at first. He knew little dressage, and would throw his head like crazy in jumping, even though he could jump the moon! At first I did not want Rodney, who I was going to get from my sister; I didn’t even want to ride him. After a few months riding him, and having my trainer, Carrie Barrick, do a lot of dressage work on him, he was the best pony a girl could ask for! He took me through Novice, easily. I miss him so much! We sold him when I was 14 to a family in Lexington who love him dearly.
After we sold Rodney, my brother was off to college so I got Deputy Commander, also known as Commander; my dream horse. I always watched my brother ride him in awe because Commander always was so elegant and beautiful! When I was lucky, my brother would let me walk him . . he said I couldn’t actually do work on him because I was “too small.” When he left for college, he left Commander with me, and I have been riding him every since. We have definitely had our ups and downs to say the least; but Commander is the best horse I could ask for! I hope to move him up to Preliminary at our farm’s horse trials, Spring Run Horse Trials in June. We are also planning on going to the American Eventing Championships in September.
