United States Eventing Association

The Indiana Eventing Association’s Training Three-Day Event was a resounding success. The weather was perfect, the footing was great, the volunteers were cheerful and helpful, the clinicians, staff and help were superb. The best part to me was watching the competitors’ faces as they were getting ready to go off on steeplechase--they looked nervous and tense and then they grinned and whooped as they crossed the finish line. I've never seen so many huge grins in one place as the end of phase D.

Many congratulations are in order for all the competitors who completed--in the classic format to complete is to win. Hannah Hubsch led from start to finish on her Sunny Weather and in doing so not only won the T3DE but also won prizes for being the highest placed Young Rider and the best dressage score. Jamie Bales and Overture won Best Presented, Michelle Weeks and Dusty Dazing got the nod for smoothest Cross Country ride. KC Mullin on her Thoroughbred Willpower won Best Conditioned--KC and Will were also awarded an "Ironmaster" type award for continuing in the face of adversity. Jennifer Lewandowski won the Sportsmanship award, donated by The Equestrian Shoppe, for her amazingly good cheer and willingness to help. Leah Snowden on My Ero won the award for the highest placing off-the-track Thoroughbred.
