It was a busy week at the MARS Maryland 5 Star, held Oct. 16-20 in Elkton, Maryland, with a five-star and three-star division running alongside the Dutta Corp. USEA Young Event Horse East Coast Championships. The USEA was there to capture all of the action. Here are some of our favorite photos.
Thirty-seven young riders from six areas and Canada headed to Loch Moy Farm in Adamstown, Maryland, from July 4-7 for the USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships. They vied for championship titles at the CCI1*-S, CCI2*-S, and CCI3*-S alongside riders at the Maryland International, which featured one- to four-star short divisions.
The U.S. Olympic Eventing Team had their Mandatory Outing this past weekend at the Stable View Summer H.T. in Aiken, South Carolina. All team members, including the direct reserve horses, and all of the alternates, minus Will Faudree and Jennifer Mosing and Sterling Silver Stables' 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding Mama's Magic Way, were in attendance and competed in the Advanced division under the guidance of Chef d’Equipe Bobby Costello.
The Tryon International was the final U.S. selection trial for the Paris Olympics this summer, so several top riders were out to show off their form at the event, held May 8-12 in Mill Spring, North Carolina, including Caroline Pamukcu and HSH Blake, who led the CCI4*-L from start to finish.
It was a weekend to remember at the 2024 Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event. Special stories were plentiful, with Oliver Townend taking his fourth Kentucky win in his 100th career five-star start, horses like Sharon White's Claus 63 and Liz Halliday's Cooley Nutcracker completing their first five-stars, and fan favorites like Mia Farley and Phelps and Lauren Nicholson and Vermiculus impressing.
The Stable View CCI4*-S, held April 5-6 in Aiken, South Carolina, was an exciting preview of what's to come in three weeks' time at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, with several top pairs getting their final prep runs in.
The Fork at Tryon took place this past weekend, September 14-17, 2023, at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, North Carolina. The event featured international competition at the CCI4*-S, CCI2*-L, and CCI1*-S levels, as well as national competition at the Advanced, Intermediate, Preliminary, Modified, Training, Novice, and Beginner Novice levels.
The USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) presented by Nutrena Feeds returned to the Kentucky Horse Park for the second time from Aug. 29-Sept. 3, and it was a week to remember. Twenty-four champions were crowned, but there were so many more amazing moments in between. Here are some of our favorites.
It was a weekend to remember for eventers from 13 colleges as they convened at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, North Carolina, from May 26-28 for the 2023 USEA Intercollegiate Championship. The 23 teams gave their all and had tons of fun!
While she's won dozens of international events over her career, Liz Halliday-Sharp had never won a CCI4*-L until this weekend when she topped the Tryon International Spring Three-Day with Cooley Nutcracker.
It was a weekend to remember in Lexington, Kentucky, as Tamie Smith rode Mai Baum to a huge win at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event. Smith became the first U.S. rider in 15 years to win the event, and she was the first woman to win since 2011.
