The Fresno County Horse Park (FCHP), located in Fresno, California, is under new ownership as of November 15, 2020. John Marshall, who purchased the equestrian facility (known then as Ram Tap) in 2012 from Bill and Margaret Burton, has sold the park to Terry Hilst, an Area VI eventer who previously organized the horse trials at Camelot Equestrian Park in Butte Valley, California.
This year, the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program has its eye on the West Coast. With the program growing in popularity nationwide, John Marshall has offered to host a USEA Intercollegiate Eventing West Coast Championship at Fresno County Horse Park.
After seeing 63 horses in the 2019 USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) East Coast Championships at Fair Hill in Elkton, Maryland earlier this week, there were just 11 horses to see between the 4- and 5-year-old divisions at the YEH West Coast Championships at the Fresno County Horse Park in Fresno, California. While there were fewer entries, they packed a mighty punch, impressing judges Chris Ryan and Sally Ike with the quality of the horses presented.
The first Hylofit USEA Classic Series Three-Day Event of the 2019 season took place last month at the Fresno County Horse Park (FCHP) Horse Trials in Fresno, California. While five-star riders were busy galloping over the bluegrass at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event, riders at FCHP were experiencing the thrill of endurance day, complete with the roads and tracks and steeplechase phases of the old long format three-day events.
The United States Eventing Association is pleased to announce the dates and locations for the 2019 Future Event Horse and Young Event Horse Championships. The FEH will host East, West, and Central Championships, and the YEH will host East and West Coast Championships.
Nine horses competed for the 2018 USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) West Coast Championship title today at the Fresno County Horse Park in Fresno, Calif. and it was the girls who prevailed. While only nine horses showed up to the West Coast YEH Championships compared to the 53 on the East Coast, Championship judges Sally Ike, Lucinda Green, and Chris Ryan stated they saw great talent on both coasts.
