Returning Winners, Family Connections, and Luck of the Irish at the 2023 Young Horse Show Central Championship

The second Young Horse Show Series (YHS) Regional Championship took place on Sunday, October 1st at Haras Hacienda in Magnolia, Texas. Formerly known as the USEA Future Event Horse (FEH) Championships, this year’s qualifiers were run by the YHS, a program established to provide U.S. breeders the opportunity to show off their young stock, as well as connect them to owners, riders, and trainers looking for U.S. bred sport horses in the hunter, jumper, dressage, and now eventing, disciplines.

A Successful First Regional Show for the New Young Horse Show Series

After 15 years of successfully cultivating and establishing the Future Event Horse (FEH) program for eventing breeders and owners, the United States Eventing Association (USEA) has merged the FEH program with the Young Horse Show Series (YHS). The updated YHS allows for a more comprehensive show series for sport horses in the U.S., as the YHS is now open to young talent with a future in eventing, as well as hunters, jumpers, and dressage.

Behind the Breeder’s Brand: Welcome Here Farm

Nina and Tim Gardner are longtime supporters of the sport of eventing. The couple has participated in the sport as owners, volunteers, and breeders for more than 25 years, receiving the highest honor awarded in eventing in the U.S. when they were inducted into the USEA’s Eventing Hall of Fame in 2018. Anyone who has had the opportunity to talk to the couple will know that Tim gives all of the credit to Nina for cementing their legacy within the community.

Participate in the Young Horse Show Series in 2023!

In February 2023, the United States Eventing Association (USEA) announced a new pathway for the Future Event Horse (FEH) program. The Young Horse Show Series (YHS) has taken over the FEH program, and will run classes under the YHS umbrella during the 2023 competition season. USEA members that are interested in gaining exposure for their young horses are encouraged to participate in YHS events this year.

USEA and YHS Join Forces for the Future Event Horse Program

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) and the Young Horse Show Series (YHS) are proud to announce their official collaboration in further supporting and promoting the development of young horse programs in the U.S. for sport horse breeders, owners, riders, and trainers. The YHS will now be taking ownership of the USEA Future Event Horse (FEH) program for the 2023 season. In turn, the USEA will be sponsoring their regional championships with FEH classes, and the existing YHS National Eventer Discipline Recognition Program.

West Coast Best Coast - Highest National Score Secured During 2022 Dutta Corp. USEA YEH West Coast Championships

The final West Coast winners have been crowned at the 2022 Dutta Corp. USEA YEH West Coast Championships and USEA FEH West Coast Championships. On the final day of competition at Twin Rivers Ranch in Paso Robles, California, eager owners, anxious riders, and excited spectators watched as the respective judges determined the fate of their young horses in the YEH West Coast 4-Year-Old and 5-Year-Old divisions as well as in the FEH West Coast 3-Year-Old and 4-Year-Old divisions. With the young mounts competing for their respective titles this weekend producing some of the highest scores across all regional championships, the West Coast is proving it could be the best coast.

Having seen the largest turn-out for the West Coast Championships in the program's histories, the day was filled with tight competition, championship crownings, and the lingering feeling of a bright future for the sport of eventing on the West Coast.
