Behind the FEH Judge’s Score: The Tri-Athletic Type

Introduced in 2007, the USEA Future Event Horse (FEH) program evaluates the potential of yearlings, 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds to become successful upper level event horses. Now, this thriving program has over 50 horses already qualified for the 2022 USEA FEH Championships! The FEH judges have gone through continuous judge training and to understand the judging, there are plenty of resources available to anyone and everyone that might be interested, this includes the general FEH scoresheet that is used at every FEH qualifier.

Area IV to Host Their First YEH/FEH/NEH Qualifier at Woodloch Stable in Hugo, MN

The USEA offers many programs to help the development of upcoming event horses such as the Future Event Horse (FEH) program which focuses on yearlings, 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, and 4-year-olds, the Young Event Horse (YEH) program which serves as an eventing talent search for 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds under saddle, and the New Event Horse program which is an adaption of the YEH program that was designed to serve as an introduction of the sport of eventing for horse and rider that provides a stepping stone to recognized eventing. For the first time ever, USEA Area IV will be hosting a competition that features all three of these programs at Woodloch Stable in Hugo, Minnesota on July 9, 2022.

Bring on the Babies: 2022 USEA FEH Calendar and Format Updates

The USEA Future Event Horse Program (FEH) was introduced in 2007 to evaluate yearlings, 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, and 4-year-olds for their suitability for the sport of eventing based on conformation and type. The FEH program also created a pipeline for horses to gain experience competing before attending USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) competitions.

Where Are They Now? The 2020 Future Event Horse Champions

Young, promising event horses are beginning to gear up for the 2021 Future Event Horse Program Championships, which will take place in the next two months. The 2021 USEA FEH East Coast Championships will be held September 25-26 at Loch Moy Farm. The 2021 USEA FEH Central Championships will take place at Haras Hacienda on October 9-10. The 2021 USEA FEH West Coast Championships will be held at Twin Rivers Ranch from October 29-30. To compete in the FEH Championships, a horse must earn a minimum score of 72% at any qualifier.

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is delighted to announce the renewed partnership with The Jockey Club as a Silver Level Sponsor of the 2021 USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) presented by Nutrena Feeds. The Jockey Club will award Thoroughbred Incentive Program (T.I.P.) prizes in all AEC divisions that include a cooler, ribbon, and prize money for every T.I.P. Champion and T.I.P. Reserve Champion.
