“Schooling shows are about learning, not about being intimidated,” says Miranda Kettlewell, VP of Dressage for Commonwealth Dressage and Combined Training Association (CDCTA).
For horses and riders, schooling shows are a great way to practice without the added stress and expense of a recognized or sanctioned competition. Venues and clubs can offer schooling shows as a way to open the door to their communities, increase their revenue or membership, and partner with local businesses.

The history of the CDCTA Horse Trials began at Commonwealth Park in Culpeper, Virginia, in the late 1980s. The Park was originally built to host the 1985 USPC Championships, and the Seneca Valley Pony Club (SVPC) was tasked with organizing the Championships.
Last fall, The Commonwealth Dressage and Combined Training Association (CDCTA) announced that after 10 years at Locust Hill Farm, the event would be relocating.
The Commonwealth Dressage and Combined Training Association (CDCTA) is Virginia’s premier Eventing and Dressage organization.
Popular for their excellent footing and galloping tracks, CDCTA is excited to make some changes that will be introduced in the spring of 2015.
