THANK YOU to everyone who has already entered the USEF/USEA Recognized CDCTA Spring Horse Trials scheduled for Sunday, April 9 in Berryville, VA. We will continue to take late entries through Friday, March 24 using USEA’s Xentry system. If you still want to come compete, please enter! The late fee has been waived through Friday, March 24.
The historic Commonwealth Dressage & Combined Training Association (CDCTA) Fall Horse Trials is quickly approaching. With less than a month left before the September 11 USEF/USEA recognized event, entries for the trails are sadly lower than expected. With the price of gas and diesel, work schedules, and less time for horses the volunteer-based organization understands the struggles surrounding the eventing industry. Those that are interested in competing at the CDCTA Fall Horse Trials need to get their entries in by Tuesday, August 23.

“Schooling shows are about learning, not about being intimidated,” says Miranda Kettlewell, VP of Dressage for Commonwealth Dressage and Combined Training Association (CDCTA).
For horses and riders, schooling shows are a great way to practice without the added stress and expense of a recognized or sanctioned competition. Venues and clubs can offer schooling shows as a way to open the door to their communities, increase their revenue or membership, and partner with local businesses.

The history of the CDCTA Horse Trials began at Commonwealth Park in Culpeper, Virginia, in the late 1980s. The Park was originally built to host the 1985 USPC Championships, and the Seneca Valley Pony Club (SVPC) was tasked with organizing the Championships.
Last fall, The Commonwealth Dressage and Combined Training Association (CDCTA) announced that after 10 years at Locust Hill Farm, the event would be relocating.
