Leesburg, VA – August 30, 2013 – The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is pleased to announce that long-term sponsor Stackhouse Saddles will once again be supporting the USEA and the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) as well as the Classic Series of three-day events. Master craftsmen, David Stackhouse and Lesley Ellis of Stackhouse Saddle Makers, will personally be on-hand at the AEC, September 26-29 to present a custom-made saddle to the 2013 Junior Training Champion and to the 2013 Junior/Young Rider Preliminary Champion.
"Stackhouse Saddles is delighted to continue our sponsorship with the USEA and especially the American Eventing Championships. This year, we are pleased to award custom Stackhouse Saddles to the winners of Junior Training and Junior/Young Rider Preliminary divisions. We chose to reward the Junior divisions in an effort to educate them about the importance and advantages of a properly fitting saddle as well as give them an exciting prize to work toward!"
Each Stackhouse saddle is individually created to fit both horse and rider with all the leather being cut by hand, which allows for the flaps to be tailored to the individual. Quality, comfort, fit and many other things are key to constructing a saddle with perfect balance and one perfectly suited for its purpose. The Stackhouse range includes dressage, eventing, and jumping saddles – all made from the very best full-grain leathers.
“We are so happy that Stackhouse Saddles have agreed to continue their sponsorship of the USEA and our national eventing championships,” said the USEA’s Jo Whitehouse. “David and Lesley specifically wanted to recognize the younger riders at the AEC and this is a wonderful opportunity for these riders to own such a high quality, custom-made saddle. And having Stackhouse Saddles on site as a vendor will allow for horses to be custom fitted for their new saddles immediately.”
In addition to the saddles presented to the two division winners at the AEC, two more Stackhouse saddles will be awarded at the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention. All winners of 2013 Classic Series Three-Day Events at the Training and Preliminary levels will be entered into separate draws (one for each level) to receive one of the two custom saddles.
Stackhouse Saddles will be at the American Eventing Championships in Tyler, Texas September 26-29. For more information, contact them at [email protected]or (910) 255-0266, or visit their website at: www.stackhousesaddles.com.

Eventers who are new to the sport may feel a little overwhelmed by the often-misunderstood world of saddle fitting. Finding a qualified expert to answer these questions is crucial.
