Spalding Labs/USEA Young Event Horse East Coast Championships - Day 1

By USEA | October 16, 2009

The young stars of the future took the stage today in the first day of the 2009 Spalding Labs/USEA Young Event Horse East Coast Championships at Fair Hill International in Elkton, MD. The promising athletes showed confidence and poise beyond their years as they performed beautifully in the dressage and conformation phases of the competition, all the while roughing it against the elements. Standing in first and second place in the four-year-old division is Leslie Law, riding Terry Smith’s Dresden Hit (pictured left) to top of the division, followed by Tim and Cheryl Holekamp’s Kalamata. Kurt Martin and Master Frisky, owned by Charlotte Hogg, are leading the five-year-old division, with Kim Severson and Eileen Kenney’s Mighty Himself close behind. The championships will wrap up with the jumping portion, the most important phase of the competition. Day 1 Results. Josh Walker photos.
