Hannah Sue Burnett and Richard Thompson’s St. Barths (pictured left) kept everyone on the edge of their seats at the Fair Hill International CCI2* after a nail-biting finish on Sunday afternoon. As they ended a picture-perfect round, Burnett and St. Barths nearly crashed through the final fence after misjudging the distance, but thanks to Burnett’s quick wit and the gelding’s athleticism, they stayed on their feet and passed through the finish flags amid a roar of applause from the crowd. Burnett had a single rail in hand to win the class, and Rebecca Howard and Roquefort dropped two places to finish in third, while Doug Payne and Running Order moved up to second after lowering just one rail.
