The race for the Adequan USEA Gold Cup is in full swing as the Series continues next week with the Event at Rebecca Farm CIC3*, July 11-15. Thirteen Advanced level riders and 14 horses will travel to Kalispell, Montana to compete in one of the most anticipated west coast events in a quest to gain Gold Cup points.

The Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series brings together the best Advanced level riders in the country for a year-long competition. Riders must compete and place successfully in the Advanced and CIC3* events held at seven different USEA venues throughout the year in order to earn points and a spot on the Gold Cup leaderboard. All of the events hosting the Gold Cup offer substantial prizes, including $500 cash, to winners of each division, but the rider who earns the most points at the end of the year will be the named the Adequan Gold Cup Series champion and take home $20,000.

The latest Adequan Gold Cup Series event was held at The Fork Horse Trials from April 5-8. As of The Fork, Michael Pollard and the late Icarus occupy first place on the Gold Cup leaderboard with 380 points. Allison Springer and Arthur hold onto reserve champion with 290 points, while Sinead Halpin and Manoir De Carneville have third place with 265 points.

Currently there is only one rider from the top 15 on the Adequan Gold Cup leaderboard competing at Rebecca Farm. James Alliston, sitting in fourth and fifth place on the leaderboard, has two horses entered in the event: Parker, a 10-year-old thoroughbred gelding, and Tivoli, a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding. Tivoli and Alliston are currently fifth on the Gold cup leaderboard with 215 points. Alliston initially entered Jumbo's Jake, a 14-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding, but recently scratched the entry. Alliston and Jumbo’s Jake are in fourth place on the leaderboard with 240 points.

With only three more Gold Cup Series events after Rebecca Farm, the race for the cup is heated. Be sure to check out the Gold Cup scoreboard and keep in touch with the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series.

The Event at Rebecca Farm will begin Wednesday, July 11 with the USEA Young Event Horse and IDHSNA USEA Future Event Horse Classes. Dressage will begin on Thursday the 12th and resume on Friday the 13th, accompanying the beginning of the cross-country phase. Cross-country will continue all day on Saturday the 14th. Rebecca Farm will finish the event on Sunday the 15th with show jumping all day and an awards ceremony for each division. A truckload of prizes will be waiting at the awards ceremony for one talented pair who wins the CIC3*.
