Riders at GMHA Experience the Thrill of the 'Chase in the SmartPak Equine USEA Classic Series

The GMHA Festival of Eventing concluded its SmartPak Equine USEA Training Three-Day event as well as their Novice Three-Day event on Thursday, just before the beginning their August Horse Trials. Forty-seven riders were divided up into four divisions as they competed in the classic format event in Woodstock, Vermont.

My Boy Bobby Comes Out of Retirement for a Charity Event

The Advanced level eventer and Rolex veteran, My Boy Bobby, a 16 year old Irish Sport Horse gelding, will come out of retirement for one last hurrah this weekend at the Monmouth County Horse Show at the New Jersey Horse Park in Allentown, New Jersey. “Bobby” and his rider, Jessica Kiener, will join the crowd of horses competing in the Hunter and Jumper classes to participate in a fund raising event for the Patient Air Lift Services.

Past Winners Return to AEC to Defend their Titles

With the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships only one month away, three of last year’s winners are returning to the 2012 AEC to try and defend their titles. 19 year-old Logan Elliott from Mt. Airy, Maryland won the Junior Beginner Novice division last year at the AEC, aboard Cady O' Daly Michael, a Connemara gelding. She will return to the AEC this year and compete in the Novice Amateur division riding “Michael” once again.

All Olympic Horses Safely Through First Jog

Eventing teams from all over the globe made their first Olympic appearance this morning in Greenwich Park at the first veterinary inspection. The United States team was the first to jog following the individual from Ecuador, and all horses passed on the first inspection.

Golden Finishes for Victoria New and Connor Husain at 2012 Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships

The CH-J* division of the 2012 Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships ended today with 33 nerve-wracking rounds of show jumping. Rails flew left and right as riders navigated the tricky course, designed by Richard Jeffery. Final placings for teams and individuals were determined by the multitude of jump and time penalties.

Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships Second Veterinary Inspection

Competitors at the Adequan/FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships were up bright and early this morning for the final veterinary inspection. Horses and riders arrived at the jog lanes behind the Kentucky Horse Park steeplechase barn at 7:00, groomed and dressed in their best.

Cross-Country Day Shakes Up Standings at Adequan/FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships

The tables turned today after the cross-country phase at the Young Rider Championships. Placings in both the CH-J* and the CH-Y** were rearranged, as refusals and time penalties knocked the dressage leaders down the ranks and hoisted new riders to the leaderboard.

This past weekend the Coconino Classic 3-Day Event hosted another successful SmartPak Equine USEA Training Three-Day in Flagstaff, Arizona. With 15 divisions ranging from Pre-Comp to Intermediate-Preliminary, seven riders competed in the Training Three-Day.

Dressage Day Kicks Off Competition at 2012 Adequan/FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships

Dressage Day has come and gone at the Young Rider Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. The eventing competition made its first appearance at 7:30 this morning, beginning the championship with the CH-Y**. Seventeen talented young riders from the two-star division got up bright and early to complete their test and score well for their team.

Race for the Cup: Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series Update

The race for the Adequan USEA Gold Cup is in full swing as the Series continues next week with the Event at Rebecca Farm CIC3*, July 11-15. Thirteen Advanced level riders and 14 horses will travel to Kalispell, Montana to compete in one of the most anticipated west coast events in a quest to gain Gold Cup points.
