Lauren Kieffer and Veronica Lead at Lunch at Rolex Kentucky

By Caroline Culbertson - USEA Staff | April 25, 2014

Lauren Kieffer and Team Rebecca LLC's Veronica took the lead just before the lunch break at Rolex Kentucky, jumping ahead of a three-way tie for second place between Phillip Dutton, Jan Byyny and overnight leader Michael Pollard.

Kieffer (Middleburg, Va.) had a quiet, focused warmup before their round and seemed equally steady and focused in the main arena to score a 46.7.

A three-way tie for second place was also established in the morning session, with Phillip Dutton on Mr. Medicott and Jan Byyny on Inmidair scoring a 49.5 - the score that Michael Pollard and Mensa G led with overnight.

The leaderboard could still shake up quite a bit by the end of the day as the afternoon ride list is a star-studded one. Phillip Dutton, Andrew Nicholson, Mark Todd and William Fox-Pitt are set to ride after the competition gets back underway at 1:30 p.m.
