The USEA is proud to welcome Hoof Wraps as a new sponsor of the 2010 SmartPak Equine USEA Preliminary Three-Day Events.
Hoof Wraps will be distributed to each competitor at the five Preliminary Three-Day Events across the country, and are the perfect addition to the bucket of necessary supplies at the 10-minute box at long-format events.
"The Hoof Wraps bandage is really a great thing to have in your first aid kit no matter the breed, sport, or discipline you’re involved in," said Bryan Tilghman, owner of Hoof Wraps. "For eventers in particular, we know how busy their competition schedule is so if there’s an abscess or bruising, etc. it’s important that a horse be given every opportunity to recover quickly. They can also be used as a temporary boot in case a horse loses a shoe and needs some extra protection."
Tilghman and his company saw a need for this type of multi-use bandage in the equestrian world, and came up with a product that saves horse owners the time and expense of homemade bandages, and most importantly keeps the horse happy within their normal turn-out routine. "They say necessity is the mother of invention and in this case it’s true. Frankly, I was tired of using duct tape and baby diapers to treat frequent abscess in the Thoroughbreds I was working with at the time. The horses were anxious and tired of being stuck in the stall for days at a time. I saw these as problems for the horse and the horse owner but I couldn’t find the right product solution. I found some treatment boots but proper sizing can be difficult and they were recommended for stall use only. That may have helped me but it wouldn’t have solved the problem for the horse. Hoof Wraps are designed so that one size fits most standard horses and more importantly, they’re made specifically for use with turn out. It’s really about making life a little easier for horses and their owners."
Hoof Wraps are relatively new sponsors in the eventing community, and are looking forward to working with our dynamic group of riders. "We’ve had great support from eventers and although my experience with horses has mostly to do with chasing cows and eating dirt, I have a tremendous respect for the sport and the horse and rider athletes who compete in it," said Tilghman. "We’re currently sponsoring an eventer and we really enjoy her updates and learning more about the sport. This is a great opportunity for us to get our brand out in front of eventers and horse owners."

We don't call it the "happiest horse trial in the world" for no reason, and the first day of competition at the 2025 USEA Intercollegiate & Interscholastic Eventing Championships proved just that. Those competing in the Advanced, Intermediate, Preliminary, Modified, and Training divisions got their first day of competition started as they executed their dressage and show jumping tests. Their teammates in the remaining divisions will get to experience the thrill of the show ring starting tomorrow, but all Intercollegiate and Interscholastic competitors had the opportunity to participate in this afternoon's parade of teams to give everyone a taste of their school spirit!
The United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation announced that the 2025 Jacqueline B. Mars National Competition and Training Grant was awarded to eventer James Alliston of San Ramon, California.
