Helpful Tips: The 2018 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention is One Month Away!

The 2018 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention featuring the USEA’s 7th Eventing Hall of Fame is just one month away! Taking place December 6-9, 2018 at the Sheraton New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana, the 2018 Convention will be one for the books in “The Big Easy!”

Registration

Registration is still open and it’s not too late to sign up! USEA members may register by logging into their Online Services account and selecting “Register for the Annual Convention.” Attendees may also register by using the application form or calling the USEA office and asking the membership department for help at (703) 779-0440. Registration rates will increase November 14 so members are urged to register as soon as possible to take advantage of the early bird discounted prices!

Accommodations

Hotel registration is also open and attendees may reserve their rooms at the Sheraton New Orleans by clicking here to receive the special USEA rate or by calling (888) 627-7033. The hotel room block discounted rate expires November 13 so be sure to book your hotel room before then to get the special discounted rate!

Transportation

2018 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention attendees will have transportation at their fingertips and all USEA members will receive discounts on their rides to and from the airport. Click here for more information on transportation and other activities in The Big Easy.

Schedule and App

The USEA is using the smartphone Meeting App that will enable attendees to get real-time schedule updates and information on what’s happening with speakers and special events. The Meeting App is available on the Apple Store or Google Play. For more information and the full agenda, click here.

The USEA is offering a special class for members to update or receive their CPR and AED credentials with seminar sponsor Stop Heart Attack powered by Trio Safety CPR + AED. Members will first need to start their training with the online portion and register here.

Special Events and Functions

USEA members may purchase tickets to the following special events:

• Thursday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m. – USEA Board of Governors; Welcome Reception – complimentary
• Friday, December 7 at 11:30 a.m. – USEA Year End Awards Presentation and Luncheon - $65 each
• Saturday, December 8 at 12:00 p.m. – Annual Meeting of Members with Keynote Speaker Erik Duvander (one ticket included per registration) Additional tickets - $63 each
• Saturday, December 8 at 6:00 p.m. – USEA Eventing Hall of Fame Gala and Dinner - $100 each

The USEA's Eventing Hall of Fame Gala and Dinner on Saturday night will honor the six new inductees, including one horse, Out and About, and the following people: Karen O’Connor, Captain Mark Phillips, Marty Simensen, Howard Simpson, and Tim and Nina Gardner. There will also be a special surprise Saturday evening organized by the USEA, so members should be sure to arrive at dinner early!

Members may purchase and reserve seating for the USEA’s Eventing Hall of Fame Gala prior to arriving at the Convention to secure space with friends or family. Members may email [email protected] with names of those other members they’d like to sit with at the ceremony. Should members have any food allergies, please let Jennifer know so that necessary preparations may be made.
