Gold Cup Fast Facts: The Fork

The Fork HT is the last CIC3* before Rolex Kentucky later this month and the action kicks off tomorrow with dressage at the venue in Norwood, N.C. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Follow the live scoring with this link
  • Three Adequan USEA Gold Cup divisions: CIC3*, Advanced A and Advanced B
    • 57 Entered in the CIC3*
    • 28 Entered in Advanced A
    • 22 Entered in Advanced B
  • “Shoot for the Stars” – a program to combine the Fork’s eventing enthusiasts with the local Sporting Clay enthusiasts.
    • Teams were formed and shot clays this afternoon, and their team scores will be combined with different riders this weekend to determine the overall winners come Sunday.
  • To follow this clay shooting theme, many fences on course are of the firearm variety.
  • Tremaine Cooper designed the cross-country
  • Chris Barnard designed the show jumping.
  • This is the last three-star for riders to qualify for Rolex Kentucky CCI4* later this month
  • The Fork proudly supports the American Friends of the Brooke: Healthy working animals for the world’s poorest communities.

About the Adequan USEA Gold Cup

Qualifying for the 2016 Adequan USEA Gold Cup Championship began last fall with the Richland Park Advanced & CIC3* (MI), Aspen Farms Advanced (WA), Plantation Field Advanced & CIC3* (PA) and the Woodside International Advanced & CIC3* (CA) and features 11 qualifying competitions throughout the United States at the Advanced Horse Trials and CIC3* levels. The final will take place at the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships, September 1-4 in Tryon, North Carolina. Riders who complete a qualifier earn the chance to vie for $40,000 in prize money and thousands of dollars in prizes in the Adequan Advanced Division and the title of Adequan USEA Gold Cup Champion.
