FEI 2015 Rules for Eventing

Following the FEI General Assembly in December 2014, the 2015 FEI rulebook for Eventing was released. The FEI issued another press release on February 2, 2015 with the most current, updated versions of all rule modifications for 2015 for all international disciplines, including Eventing.
The version showing changes in red can be viewed here, while the version without markup can be viewed here. For an up-to-date list of rules on permitted tack including bits, visit this page.
A few of the notable changes (for FEI competitions only) for 2015 include:
- Rowel spurs are now permitted in all three phases instead of just Dressage and Jumping. The rowels must be vertical, free to rotate, and smooth.
- Medical armbands are no longer compulsory, but athletes with important or relevant medical conditions are responsible for wearing a "medical data carrier," which is defined as "a small emblem or tag worn on a bracelet, neck chain, or on the clothing, intended to alert paramedics/physicians/first responders that the wearer has an important medical condition."
- A sentence added under 538.1.1 Protective Headgear states the FEI's recommendation that riders keep their helmet on during a victory lap.
- Half marks may be incorporated into scoring in the Dressage phase.
- Breaking a frangible pin on Cross-Country results in an automatic 21 penalties.
- The 2015 FEI Dressage Tests are compulsory as of March 2nd, 2015.
