A very impressive group of youngsters showed up to compete at the USEA Future Event Horse Competition at The Maryland Horse Trials II at Loch Moy. When all of the score sheets had been tallied it was Heidi Brueckner’s Thoroughbred/Holsteiner gelding, Redshift, who had the highest score of the day with a 72.7. Patricia Bewley’s Catoctin Ruthless 030 was not far behind with a 70.5.

Madelyn Cease paused as she scrolled the USEA Foundation website. She stopped on the Richard Picken Memorial Grant, realizing she was eligible for it, so she signed up, never expecting to win the $5,000 fund.
