Dutton & Woodburn's Double-Clear Bumps Them Up to Second

By USEA | September 7, 2008
"This was Woodburn’s biggest test to date," said Phillip Dutton. "He stepped up to the plate and answered every question." When asked about how the footing was after all the rain Phillip said he was surprised how well it did stand up and how Woodburn handled it. "My horse just galloped across the top of the ground and felt really well. He is very fit and will recover well. He’s a careful jumper and should be fine tomorrow."

"I couldn’t have had a better day," said William Fox-Pitt after Tamarillo, the sixteen-year-old by Tarnik out of Mellita, jumped clear inside the time around the Mark Phillips designed cross-country course at Burghley, England today. Not only did Tamarillo perform superbly but so did William’s other ride Ballincoola owned by Mr. Michael Payne and Mrs. Judith Skinner. Separating the two is our own Phillip Dutton and Acorn Hill Farm’s Woodburn who are 10.4 points behind Tamarillo.
