After scoring an impressive 46.70 out of a possible 50 in the jumping phase of the 2011 USEA Young Event Horse East Coast Championships at the Fair Hill International, Doug Payne and Kristen Burgers' Royal Tribute won the 5-Year-Old title with a total score of 91.10 out of a possible 100. In the 4-Year-Old division, Kelli Temple and Jullian Stiller's Corneel registered a 46.15 in the jumping phase to claim their victory with a total score of 89.47. Day 1 Video | More scores

The horses in trainer Joe Davis’ barn at Horseshoe Indianapolis don’t just get standard hay in their nets each day. Throughout the afternoon, Davis or one of his employees opens the HayGain machine that sits at the end of his shed row and pulls out a warm, beautiful-smelling bale of freshly-steamed hay to fill their nets.

This month, the focus turns to husband and wife Ed and Leanne Barnett who introduced Proetto to the art of running an efficient horse inspection at Maryland. Ed and Leanne undertake a 12-hour drive from their home in Indiana to Maryland just to volunteer at the event.
