Charles Owen Continues Long Term Partnership with Rolex 3 Day Event, Lexington, Kentucky

Tuesday, April 24, 2012
Charles Owen Inc. will once again be present at the 2012 Rolex Three-Day event in Lexington, Kentucky, April 26 – 29. With over ten years of presence at Rolex Three-Day Events, Charles Owen has become a staple on site and a true fixture on the list of vendors and sponsors.
This year’s Rolex Event will be especially exciting with the upcoming Summer Olympics. The riders and horses competing at Rolex will be featured in selection trials to determine the U.S. Eventing Team for the 2012 London Olympic Games. This will add to the already highly charged atmosphere at Rolex Three-Day and will allow spectators the chance to see the riders and horses that will be representing the United States in just a few months in the London Olympics.
As in past years, Charles Owen will occupy a large corporate sponsor tent conveniently located near the entrance to the show jumping and dressage competition arena. In addition to receiving expert helmet and body protector fitting advice, spectators and shoppers can see and be fitted for Sergio Grasso boots and Roeckl gloves. Also available for the first time in the U.S. is the new “4Star” helmet - the first helmet worthy of four (4) safety standards certifications, reaffirming Charles Owen’s dedication to safety and saving lives.
The Charles Owen 4Star helmet features the latest in safety technology and comfort including a deep fit to maximize head coverage. The tough outer shell of the helmet is reinforced with aramid fibers to improve crush resistance and enhance head protection. In addition to an unparalleled high safety standard, the 4Star’s wearers can look forward to a 4Star comfortable fit. The helmet sports a unique “Free Fit” system for increased air flow, as well as ten ventilation slots at the front and rear of the helmet to help riders keep their cool.
Roy Burek, Managing Director of Charles Owen & Co., commented, “We are very pleased to once again have such a prominent role in this world class event. The caliber of riders and the high level of competition makes Rolex the perfect place to introduce our latest helmet, the “4Star.”

Alliston’s Busy Weekend, Braitling’s Reuniting with Five-Star Mount, & Kalkman’s Advanced Victory Highlight Twin Rivers Summer H.T.

As he was finishing tacking up his horse in preparation to navigate the cross-country course at the 2024 Twin Rivers Summer Horse Trials, James Alliston expressed concern about navigating the 101 Freeway. That’s because as soon as he crossed the finish line aboard Intermediate level winner Addyson (Ampere x Nickerbocker) at 10:38 a.m. on Saturday—his fifth cross-country round of the morning with three at Preliminary and two at Intermediate—the West Coast-based five-star rider had to drive 185 miles on the 101 Freeway from Twin Rivers Ranch in Paso Robles, California, to San Francisco International Airport to catch a 4:35 p.m. flight to Frankfurt, Germany.
