The organizing team of the GMHA June H.T. regrets to announce the euthanization of a horse after the completion of competition on June 2, 2024.
It is with the deepest regret that the GMHA Organizing Committee announces that Ms. Jennifer Chapin suffered a fatal accident while competing at the Green Mountain Horse Association’s Festival of Eventing in South Woodstock, Vermont on August 11, 2019.
In 2019, GMHA is merging the June Eventing clinic and the Festival of Eventing clinics. The USEA June Eventing Clinic is going to be a great opportunity to ride with four fabulous upper level clinicians – Bobby Costello, Bonnie Mosser, Becca Vick, and John Zopatti – over three days right here at GMHA!
South Woodstock, VT – The Green Mountain Horse Association will host its third Future Event Horse, Young Event Horse and New Event Horse Test on June 21, 2014 at the newly revitalized facility in South Woodstock, VT.
The Green Mountain Horse Association, South Woodstock, Hitching Post Farm, South Royalton and Huntington Farm, South Strafford, VT teamed up to create a new program for event riders for 2012. The Vermont Eventing Challenge is a year end awards program for riders competing in Vermont’s USEA recognized Horse Trials. Annie Penfield owner of Strafford Saddlery Shop was pleased to support the goal of the program to promote event competition at many levels in the state of Vermont, and to provide riders with a season-long goal, attainable within the area. The VT Eventing Challenge shows for 2012 were Hitching Post Farm Horse Trial (May 19 - 20) GMHA’s June Horse Trials (June 2- 3), Huntington Farm Horse Trial (July 14 - 15) GMHA August Horse Trials (August 10 - 12) Huntington Farm Horse Trial (August 18 - 19) and GMHA September Horse Trials (September 15 - 16).
July 25, 2012, South Woodstock, Vermont—A huge effort is going into making sure that the week of August 6-12 delivers exciting eventing competition as well as a top-notch competitor and spectator experience with a Vermont-themed trade fair, delicious food, a competitor's party with live music, and $10,000 in prize money for the Intermediate division.
The GMHA Cross-Country Upgrade project was officially launched in May, but the idea to revamp the tracks and jumps actually began percolating several years ago in discussions between Janine McClain, Jane Hamlin and Laurie Hudson about re-introducing the Intermediate level to the GMHA Horse Trials.
The GMHA Cross-Country Upgrade committee is pleased to announce several opportunities to learn more about the just-launched project. In conjunction with Denny Emerson’s book signing at the June Horse Trials on Saturday, June 4, committee members will be on-hand to provide an overview of the project and answer questions, including how to donate. The informational session will take place at the Youth Center following the book signing party, which begins around 5:30 at the conclusion of stadium.
The Green Mountain Horse Association (GMHA) is embarking on an ambitious, multi-year project to upgrade their cross-country course, including footing and site work, installation of new complexes, creation of an Intermediate track and repairing and augmenting the current Beginner Novice through Preliminary-level jump inventory with new permanent and portable fences.
The Green Mountain Horse Association hosted its September Horse Trials on September 19 and 20. The Beginner Novice through Preliminary event along with the Area I Adult Team Challenge held over 2 days provided over 235 riders with early access to fall foliage on a spectacular weekend in Vermont.
