One week from today, nearly 1,000 eager eventing enthusiasts with top qualifications gained at events across the U.S. will converge on Lexington, Kentucky, to fight for champion status at this year’s USEA American Eventing Championship (AEC) presented by Nutrena Feeds!

The U.S. Eventing Association caters to a wide variety of stakeholders, from young riders, amateurs, and professionals, to organizers, volunteers, and coaches.  The 21-member USEA Board of Governors meets routinely to discuss rule changes, budgets, safety, competitions, and more, in hopes of moving the sport forward and helping members and the programs USEA supports. 

There are 44 exciting horse and rider pairs entered in this year's $60,000 Adequan USEA Advanced Final which takes place during the 2024 USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC) presented by Nutrena Feeds. The AEC kicks off on Tuesday, Aug. 27, and the Advanced Final gets underway on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. With such a superstar lineup, it can be hard to decide who you are going to root for, which is why we pulled some details on each entry for your review. Lizzie Hoff is about to be busy. In a few weeks, she’ll start her freshman year at Syracuse University in New York, and she’ll also be competing her string of four event horses this fall. Know what else the 19-year-old Gig Harbor, Washington, native will be doing?

The Adams Horse Supply USEA Adult Team Championships (ATC) is the capstone event for the USEA Adult Team Challenges hosted throughout the year in all 10 Areas. The ATC provides adults competing in the Beginner Novice through Preliminary levels with the chance to compete as a team and represent their Area in a friendly and fun environment. The Bert Wood Novice Stakes at the Woodside Summer Horse Trials brought out what the Novice level of eventing is all about—showcasing promising new horses in the sport, providing young riders with an opportunity to gain foundational experience, and celebrating the adult amateur riders that are an integral part of hosting successful events.

Now that all of our U.S. horses and riders are home safe and sound from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, USEA Podcast Host Nicole Brown chatted with USEF Eventing Technical Advisor and Chef d'Equipe Bobby Costello about the Team's preparation work, time in France, and outlook after this year's Games.

I’d like to preface my story by saying that I have been a 30-year hunter/jumper rider and trainer. I run a large training and lesson farm in Monroe, Georgia, and up until April of 2024, I would have considered myself a hunter/jumper through and through, and let me just say my world has been flipped upside down in the best way possible!
