The 2017 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention is coming and we hope to see you there! Join us in Long Beach, California, December 6-10 for a long weekend discussing, learning about, and celebrating eventing.
This is a special weekend that everyone can enjoy, and there are countless lectures and presentations on the future of the sport, horse health, rider safety, veterinary medicine, and much more. Participants at the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention are welcome to attend as many meetings and presentations as they like.
The focus of this year’s Convention is on event organizers. Without the event organizers we would not have all the well-run events that we have across the United States, and organizers are typically the first people to arrive and the last to leave the events to make sure that all the small details of an event are running smoothly.
The USEA Annual Meeting and Convention is a great opportunity to meet the influential members of the sport of eventing and get a first-hand look at the newest developments of the sport. We gather to celebrate another great year of eventing. Here are some highlights that you don’t want to miss:
USEA Board of Governors’ Reception Presented by USEA and Area VI Cocktails Presented by Devoucoux
In the true eventing spirit of good times, good food, and good friends, the Board of Governors and Area VI will welcome everyone to the 2017 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention with a welcome reception. The welcome reception will be hosted at the Aquarium of the Pacific and shuttle transportation will be departing from the Westin Long Beach hotel at 6:30 p.m. The welcome reception is open to all Convention attendees and will kick off the festivities in style on Thursday evening. Everyone is invited to enjoy tasty hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and enjoy the many exhibits of the Aquarium of the Pacific and the colorful reefs. Meet members of the USEA Board of Governors and catch up with friends before heading out to enjoy local flavor of Long Beach. The welcome reception will be held on Thursday, December 7, 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Shuttle services back to the hotel will start at 8:30 p.m.
USEA Year-End Awards Dinner
Saturday’s Year-End Awards Dinner will once again feature eventing legend Jim Wofford as the Master of Ceremonies. Come and accept your award or cheer on your friends, fellow riders, volunteers, and other members of the sport who’ve achieved high accolades this year. The Year-End Awards Dinner will be held on Saturday, December 9. Cocktails will be served at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Long Beach offers an array of nighttime entertainment, so go explore and discover Long Beach, one of the friendliest city in the U.S.
USEA Annual Meeting of Members
The USEA Annual Meeting of Members is an important part of the weekend as we bid a fond farewell to the Board of Governors members who have completed their terms, welcome our new Board of Governors members with smiles, and discuss important association business. This year as a special treat, Boyd Martin, a fan-favorite who has won the hearts of American eventing fans, will be the keynote speaker. The Annual Meeting of Members will be held on Saturday, December 9, 12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.
