The 2015 Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships, Presented by VTO Saddlery officially began with the start of the welcome party Wednesday night. The party featured great food, live music and a jousting demonstration. The members of Four Winds Renaissance Faire wore complete suits of armor and showcased five different jousting exercises for the crowd.

At the welcome dinner USEA COO Rob Burk also announced the winners of $100 gas cards. Of the first 100 competitors to enter this year’s AEC, 10 were randomly drawn to win this prize. The winners were: Madison Miller, Hollie Hubbard, Zara Flores-Kinney, Karen Trout, Ginny Harrison, Jennifer Fair, Cora Severs, Jodie Stowell, Mary Boster and Elizabeth Mann. Winners can pick up your prize in the office tomorrow morning.

Dressage starts tomorrow morning with Preliminary Horse and Training Amateur divisions at 8:30 a.m. The Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series Final Dressage will take place in Ring 1 from 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. You can find a complete list of ride times here and a full schedule here.

There are two Event College educational opporunities tomorrow. These programs are open for anyone to enjoy.

12:30 PM – Meet Tamra Smith in the Advanced dressage warm-up (next to Ring 1) to discuss rider warm-up techniques

5:00 PM – Meet Cathy Wieschhoff and Angela Gryzwinski at the South end of the Rose Barn to learn about after cross-country care for the Event horse

Also at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow there will be a Junior/Young Rider Pizza Party at the VTO Saddlery booth.

The Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships presented by VTO Saddlery is the annual American championship for every level of the Olympic equestrian sport of Eventing, from Beginner Novice to Advanced.
