2015 Nutrena AEC Interactive Course Maps

Want to see what a championship course looks like? You can check out close-ups of all the fences for each level here with the USEA course preview.
This year’s the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships presented by VTO Saddlery courses are tactfully designed, thoughtfully built and beautifully decorated. Because this is third year the AEC has been held at the Texas Rose Horse Park, course builders Justin VanderWeele and Rob Mobley believe this is the strongest course thus far. “Each year the decorations get better, the course gets better and the crowd seems to like it more,” says VanderWeele. Both he and Mobley believe that the third time is the charm and these AEC courses are fully utilizing everything the horse park has to offer. Until the first ride on Friday, VanderWeele and Mobley will be busy with final touches, carefully checking all fences and terrain to ensure the courses are ready for competitors.
Course designer Captain Mark Phillips has delivered a strong championship course that, because of the layout of the terrain, is spectator friendly. “The [Texas Rose Horse] Park is great. The viewing is fantastic, so we try to position all the fences so the spectators and supporters can see most of the fences from middle of the course,” said Phillips. There will be spectator grandstands situated near the final water complex, which will give the bird’s-eye view that Captain Phillips described. The first rider will be on course at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
