The USEA established the Young Event Horse (YEH) program in 2004 to identify young horses that possess the talent and disposition to, with proper training, excel at the uppermost levels of the sport. While the goal of the YEH program is to identify horses that will be successful at the four- and five-star levels, horses with the potential for lower-level success are also showcased by the program every year.
The USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) Program was created with the mission to identify future 4- and 5-star horses, and yet again in 2023, graduates of the program proved that they were up to the task. With historic results secured by YEH grads at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event, the FEI Eventing Nations Cups in Poland and Germany, the $60,000 Adequan Advanced Final at the USEA AEC, the Burghley Horse Trials, the Pan American Games, and the Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill, as well as gracing several USEA year-end leaderboards, the YEH program once again demonstrated that it has played a major role in the production of some of the U.S.’s top mounts.
