Joan Harper didn’t get her chance to shine in the saddle until she was in her 50s. A lifelong horse lover, Harper trail rode and played around at a few 4-H horse shows in her younger years, but after her daughter was introduced to Pony Club, Harper started soaking up everything she could about the sport, eventually becoming a prominent face in the North Carolina eventing community as a top-tier volunteer and course decorator.
The War Horse Event Series (WHES) is a series of horse trials that take place at the Carolina Horse Park (CHP) in Raeford, North Carolina (Area II). In 2020, WHES offered USEA recognized divisions for Beginner Novice through Preliminary along with their unrecognized schooling show offering, which includes “Maiden” and “Green as Grass” levels and combined tests.
The Five Points Horse Trials are held yearly on the first weekend in September at the Carolina Horse Park (CHP) in Raeford, North Carolina (Area II) and this year will be offering Beginner Novice through Advanced horse trials and combined test divisions and USEA Young, Future, and New Event Horse classes.

The Carolina Horse Park Foundation is pleased to announce the 2019 Anniversary Challenge, an online fundraising challenge. The Challenge focuses on the wonderful community who support the Park and make it what it is. The Longleaf Pine Horse Trials are held every April at the Carolina Horse Park in Raeford, North Carolina (Area II) and offer Beginner Novice through Preliminary level horse trials as well as Beginner Novice through Advanced combined tests.
The Carolina Horse Park, the home of Cloud 11~Gavilan North LLC Carolina International, is a 250 acre facility with room for eight to 10 dressage rings and two major show jumping courses on synthetic footing. It also has a formal turf derby field where the show jumping is held for the CIC2* and CIC3*.

It is with deepest sorrow over the tragedy at True Prospect Farm that Carolina Horse Park announces a portion of all proceeds from the upcoming Lumber River Starter Horse Trials will be donated to the fire recovery funds. CHP both commends and is inspired by the heroism portrayed and the strength of the rallying eventing community.
Beginning in 2010, the Carolina Horse Park plans to undertake a broad based Capital Campaign. This endeavor includes upgrades to the entire infrastructure and continued diversification in the ways the Park is utilized. In conjunction with this initiative, the Carolina Horse Park is pleased to announce Tremaine Cooper as the new Cross Country Course Designer in 2010.
